Going to the Middle East

After 5 years of prayer God opened a window for me to go to the Middle East. FBR has been operating in Iraq, Kurdistan and Syria since 2016. I've always had the desire to help the teams there but God has clearly said "Not now". When learning about FBR's most recent mission, Aimee and I both felt it was right for me to go and that God was sanctioning it. There were so many reasons to stay in the US and the obstacle of COVID preventing me from going made the prospect of joining unlikely. I didn't want to leave Aimee alone with two kids, one being a 2 month old, while we are also trying to get back to Thailand before our visas expire. The window for the mission was September 27-OCT 20 and our hope is to be back in Thailand by the first of November. That's a pretty tight window.
In spite of all of these reasons not to go and the possibility of losing our visas, Aimee and I both felt a supernatural peace with me trying to go and a confidence that I should.

Now after God leading the way through airport COVID tests, ticket changes and border control checkpoints, our entire team made it to Erbil where we're staging for our mission. Our current plan is to cross into Syria, visit internally displaced peoples, conduct Good Life Club children's programs, learn and report on the situation, and support developing and existing churches. My role is to maintain the systems we'll be using for local and international communications.
Please pray that we're able to fulfill the FBR mission of bringing help, hope and love to the people there, that we're able to hear from God and move boldly in that direction and that we are able to be where God wants us to be and do what He wants us to do. Currently we're waiting on permission to enter Syria, please pray that comes.
(Update from Aimee: the team got permission and crossed into Syria last night! Praise the Lord for favor on this team! Also the team has been invited to Armenia towards the end of the month and Adam is praying about staying till around October 30 for that trip. Prayers for wisdom and guidance for him and for me here going through paperwork and petitioning the Thai government to allow us back before our visas expire. They still aren't allowing in foreigners with "volunteer" visas which we are on.)
